PUBLIC WORKS

Join us for a great day of plants and gardening!

Are you thinning your flower beds? Do you have more veggie starts than you can use? Heve you got bulbs you’re going to compost? Well, bring them to the 3rd Annual Bayside Plant Swap & Earth Day Block Party and exchange them with a neighbor for something you want (or need) for FREE*!!!

There's no size restrictions and no fancy pots needed. Just bring your plant(s) and swap til you drop.

Don’t have plants to swap? No worries, come over anyway and pick some plants up for your garden. Again, it's all for FREE!

For 2023 we’ll have:

Plants to swap (donated by the P-Patch)
Demonstrations & Crafts
Free Earth Day Cookies & Coffee
Make your own Tiny Earth flower bombs!
AND… help us release 2,000 ladybugs!!! Releases at 11am, 12pm & 1pm

Here are some of our activities!

Gnome Home Scavenger Hunt!

Hunt for the gnomes! We'll hide gnomes in Bayside Park, you find one and bring it back to our table for a prize!

Ladybug Headbands!

We have the materials you need to make coolladybug headwear!

Make seed starters!

A toilet tissue roll, some potting soil, and a seed is all you need. Make it, then plant!!

Ladybug release schedule

We'll release a total of 2,000 ladybugs at 11am, 12pm & 1pm in the P-Patch!

We’ve moved the party this year! The Bayside Block Party will be in the alley between 22nd & 23rd Streets at the Bayside Park overlook.

Volunteer!

In order to put on this event, we'll need some volunteers. Volunteering is not only a good way to meet neighbors, its the easiest and most fun way to go about it. PLUS you help your neighborhood association create a stronger community. Neighborhood events like this one require a small amount of time, are free, and make for great family EDUTAINMENT!

If you’ve got a high school or college aged kiddo in need of volunteer hours, this is the place/event for them!

*Please note that the P-Patch private plots are NOT a part of this event. Please be respectful and keep out of the garden beds. Thank you.
