On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, neighbors all across Everett will come together for National Night Out—a unique nationwide tradition dedicated to building safer, more connected neighborhoods and strengthening our partnership with local law enforcement and first responders.
Here in Bayside, we want to celebrate block by block! True community safety doesn’t start with higher fences; it starts with shorter boundaries. By hosting a small block party on your street, you help turn strangers into neighbors and ensure that Bayside remains a vibrant, watchful, and caring place to live.

Why Host a Block Party?
Step 1: Review the Guidelines
Before applying, read through the city's setup rules (such as keeping fire hydrants clear and wrapping up outdoor music by 11 pm).
Step 2: Submit Your Application Online (30 Days Prior)
Log into the City of Everett's permitting portal to file your request. You will need to upload a quick, simple draft site map showing which block of the street you want to close. Applications must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event, so aiming for early July is highly recommended!
Step 3: Notify Your Neighbors
Everett requires that all adjacent neighbors be notified about the street closure at least 14 days (2 weeks) prior to the block party. Download the official City Notification Form below, have your neighbors sign it as you hand out event invitations, and upload it to your online permit portal account. (Scroll down to the Neighborhood Block Party section in the document for the template)
Step 4: Set Up and Enjoy!
Once your application is approved, Everett Public Works will deliver traffic barricades directly to your block the day before the event. On National Night Out, set out your barricades, grab some lawn chairs, and enjoy an evening connecting with your community!
